RETA
Remote Assistance Network
The SNCF has deployed a passenger remote assistance network (RETA in French) in the 5 traffic areas in the Ile-de-France (Paris) region.
The main feature of the system is to allow distressed passengers to be located and assisted in the shortest possible time by the nearest available emergency service.
To date, the system consists of 1,200 emergency call kiosks, 450 Station Call Monitoring Centers and 250 sound systems in around 310 rail stations.
Each area has its own 24/7 Call Management Center (CMC).
